Issue #1 - original dialogue - web exclusive

Hiyya pals!
Today is a mini celebration of sorts - I'll be taking copies of Issue #1 to some comic/ zine retailers to test audience responses. So it's sort of an "unofficial launch day". To celebrate, I'm posting all of issue #1 here (again), but this time with the original speech bubbles. I'm sure some readers would rather the whole series was like this, but I'm afraid that's not to be. Still, with these original words, you get a different kind of surreal effect, sort of like watching Twin Peaks, where sometimes the dialogue would make perfect sense, but the scene was utterly baffling nonetheless due to the visuals.
Anyways, ENJOY!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand an apology of sorts

I been telling peoples that the Angel is gonna get published real soon, that I'll have a launch party and all that.
Alas!, as the sage sang "life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans" (Praise the name of the Prophet Johnlennon!).
Point being - health issues have caused delays, which have led to money issues.
I will endevour to get this sucka out there ASAP, but first I need to raise some funds.
As compensation, here, have a sneak preview of Issue #7 (this is Micturating Angel Sarah - she lives in Victorian England.)

Meet "The Secret Chiefs" + The Abandoned Adventures of Claire

So here are some terrible photos of a group of characters who will be appearing as of Issue #5 in the adventures of Claire.
Claire is blind, or close to it. These guys on the other hand see everything, since they hover in the background, observing everything. They are the Secret Chiefs, mysterious entities who look after our world. (Well, Claire's world.)
Alas!, I did not make up the Secret Chiefs, take a butcher's at this link HERE. This link is good too, and is sorta related - HERE.

There'll be more of these fellas as Claire stumbles through her adventures

(Likey the Chiefs? Wanna a T-shirt or print with them on it? Click HERE.)

But who is this Claire character I speak of? She's a Micturating Angel of course! Now, here's some photos of how I thought her adventures would go - but then abandoned this approach in favour of something a lot more experimental. Enjoy these jolly good examples of behind-the-scenes tomfoolery.

Behind the scenes/ The making of...

For those interested, here are some links to my other blog (Gadzooxtian Productions) where I posted some photos of the "making of" the Angel. (All links open in new tabs/ windows.)

View all seven articles at once [HERE], or choose your own adventure below:

Source materials & [some] links
This article explains where the project began and provides some background on the original publications I used.

A behind the scenes documentary
A short film of me actually working on this thing...

Step 1 - Step 9
Literally a step-by-step photo series on the creation of one panel of art.

Work continues
A shot of a yet-to-be published page with no dialogue (at least at that stage).

The sloooooooooooooowness of collage-making
Whereby I show you how meticulous and tiny a lot of this work is.

Why I'm anti-social a lot lately...
Seriously, making a comic book series is a LOT of work.
